What this is
Decentralised financeFolks Finance is a cross-chain lending protocol: deposit on one network, borrow on another, no manual bridging. It grew out of Algorand, where it was the leading DeFi app, and expanded to Avalanche, Ethereum, Base and other networks via cross-chain messaging. The FOLKS token launched in 2025 and governs the protocol. Cross-chain lending adds bridge risk on top of the usual DeFi risks — the market has learned expensive lessons there.
