Ready-made lists: gainers, losers, volatile, funding and open interest

Five table pages with the selection already done — /gainers, /losers, /volatile, /funding and /oi: what each contains, how ranks and windows are computed and how they differ from the screener.

The screener shows the whole market and asks you to set up filters. The lists each answer one question and ask nothing: the selection is done, the table arrives from the server, and a link opens the same thing for anyone. The first three deliberately have no live updating — for real-time work each one carries the link «Open in the screener with all filters» at the bottom.

Gainers, losers, volatile

  • The buttons «Gainers», «Losers», «Volatile» above the table switch between the three lists: /gainers, /losers, /volatile.
  • Each holds 30 rows, crypto only, only with 24h volume of at least $1M — otherwise dead small caps with paper percentages on three trades would top the list.
  • «Gainers» is sorted by «24h change» descending, «Losers» ascending, «Volatile» by «24h range».
  • Columns: number, «Coin» (a link to the coin page), «Price», «24h change», «24h range», «24h volume».
  • The data is the same snapshot the screener uses; the table is rebuilt every time the page opens.

The 24-hour window

The screener shows movement over four windows — 5 minutes, 15 minutes, an hour and a day; the lists use the day only. «24h change» is the price change over the last 24 hours. «24h range» is the width of the daily range: the high minus the low, relative to the low, in percent. A coin can close the day flat and still travel 15% there and back — «Volatile» will show it, «Gainers» will not.

/funding — the funding spread

  • The «Funding spread» page is the first tab of the «Arbitrage» section (next to it: «Spot + futures», «Spot → spot»).
  • Columns: «Ticker», one column per futures exchange, «Spread», «Volume 24h». Sort by clicking a header; the default is spread descending.
  • A green cell is the coin's highest rate, red the lowest; the spread is the gap between them. An empty cell means that exchange does not trade the contract.
  • «Min volume»: «All», «$1M+», «$10M+». The default is $1M+ — with turnover in the tens of thousands a spread cannot be traded.
  • The «per period» / «annualized» switchsee the next section. The «Exchanges» button removes venues from the table and the spread is recomputed without them.
  • The «Alerts» buttona Telegram message when a spread above your threshold holds for 3 updates in a row (about three minutes). Needs an account and a connected bot.

What funding periods are

An exchange reports the rate per payment period, and periods differ even within one exchange: Binance has 442 contracts with four-hour funding against 302 with eight-hour. The same 0.01% at a four-hour period earns twice as much as at eight hours. By default rates are shown «per period» — as in the exchange terminal; a mark like «4h» next to a cell means a non-standard period, eight-hour cells carry no mark. The «annualized» mode brings every rate to a year — the rate times 8760 divided by the period's hours — and only there are exchanges honestly comparable; highlighting and the spread are recomputed on the converted numbers. Hover a cell and the tooltip shows both numbers. If an exchange sent no period, we assume eight hours.

Basis and carry

Below the rates table sits «Basis & carry»: the return of the pair «buy spot — short the futures», where price is neutral and funding drips in. Columns: «Ticker», «Basis» (how much the futures trade above Binance spot right now), «Best venue», «Period», «Carry, annual», «Volume 24h». Basis is shown only where spot and futures agree in price within 3%: one ticker can hide different assets, and a wild basis is a naming collision, not a find. Annual means if the rate held for a year, which never happens; subtract fees on both venues and slippage from the return. We show data, we do not promise profit.

/oi — market open interest

  • The «Market open interest» page is the «Open interest» tab of the «Analytics» section (next to it: «Overview», «Sentiment», «BTC cycles», «Arbitrage»). The heading shows the sum across the whole market labelled «entire market».
  • Above the table is a legend of exchanges with each one's total OI; in the rows the «Venue split» bar — hover a coloured segment to see the exchange and the amount.
  • Columns: «Coin», «OI» (in dollars, summed across exchanges), «Venue split», «1h chg», «Rank», «Volume 24h». Sort by clicking a header; the default is by OI.
  • «Rank» is where the coin's current OI sits within its own history over the last ~20 days, from 0 to 100; it is computed in contracts rather than dollars, otherwise it would rise with price on its own.
  • The table is shown in portions and the «Show … more» button loads further rows; it refreshes once a minute.

Questions and answers

Why is a coin with +300% missing from «Gainers»?

Most likely its 24h volume is below $1M — such rows are filtered out because you can neither enter nor exit on paper percentages. The other possibility: it is not a cryptocurrency but a stock or a currency pair — the lists hold crypto only.

Why is a cell empty on /funding?

That exchange does not trade this contract. Only coins with a rate on two or more exchanges make it into the table at all — otherwise there is nothing to compute a spread from.

Why is the spread different in «per period» and «annualized»?

Because each mode computes the spread on its own numbers: «per period» on raw rates, «annualized» on rates converted to a year. Across exchanges with different payment periods only annualized values are comparable.

What does the «4h» mark next to a rate mean?

This contract's payment period is four hours instead of the standard eight. Such a rate is paid twice as often and cannot be compared with an eight-hour one directly — switch to «annualized».

Why does a coin show a dash in the «Rank» column on /oi?

The coin does not yet have enough open-interest history of its own to compare the current value with the past. The rank appears once the history accumulates.

How do I get funding spread alerts?

On /funding click «Alerts» and set a threshold in percentage points per period. The message arrives in Telegram once the spread holds for three updates in a row. Needs an account and a connected bot.
