Market analytics: overheating, funding, open interest and seasonality
The top-down view: how overheated the market is right now, where rates and positions have piled up, and how bitcoin usually behaves in this month.
The screener shows coins one by one. Analytics answers a level higher: what is happening to the market as a whole and whether today is a day to trade at all.
The overheating index
A combined score per coin from four parts: funding rate, open interest change, volume surge and turnover. A high score means the instrument is crowded with leveraged positions — a state that usually precedes a sharp move, without telling you which way.
Funding and open interest across the market
Who pays the most and where positions were added over the past hour. Rising open interest with rising price means new money arriving; rising interest with falling price means shorts being built.
Long-short ratio
How participants' positions are distributed on the exchange. Extremes are read against the crowd: when nine out of ten stand on one side, there is nobody left to pay for the reversal.
Seasonality
How bitcoin closed this month in previous years. It is not a forecast and not a reason to open a trade — it is context worth knowing before you find yourself surprised by September or January.
Where open interest is changing fastest
| Coin | Value | Details |
|---|---|---|
| QNTX | -27.6% | $823K |
| NET | -26.8% | $79K |
| QNT | -23.0% | $57.8M |
| GWEI | +20.9% | $8.0M |
| BSP | +19.3% | $68K |
| PEPE | +16.3% | $26.7M |
| CRWV | +13.2% | $3.4M |
| TST | -11.8% | $4.6M |
Hourly change for coins with turnover above five million. Interest rising with price means money arriving; rising while price falls means shorts being built.
Frequently asked questions
Does a high overheating index mean the coin will fall?
No. It means positioning has become crowded and the next move is likely to be sharp. Such an index does not predict direction and cannot.
Where does the long-short ratio come from?
From the exchanges themselves — it is their public statistics on client accounts. We do not recalculate it.
How reliable is seasonality?
It is past statistics over a small number of years; bitcoin does not have many. It cannot be your only argument, but it is worth knowing.
